different people, different opinions

i have a unique woofer, i wanted a unique box

Sweet amp chose. So ur going to jus throw the one on the new XXX. Are going to have the same type of enclosure when u get the second sub
No. I'm going to buy a Dodge Magnum and put them in there in a nice enclosure. This is just temporary until July-August.

We'll have a glassed enclosure, the woofers will probably still be inverted though.

So, this guy is a box designer. But he doesn't know how to make an actual panel...look like an actual panel?I doubt you'd use wood that is 1/16" thin. And he placed the woofer and port like that? And doesn't know how to export or take a screen shot? Oooookaaaaay then......

I hope you didn't pay for that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

dude, no offense, but you need to read more.

What are you talking about panels looking like panels? Are you referring to our crappy double baffling job? It's because we didn't have any wider pieces, so, rather than picking up a new piece of MDF, we decided to do that and fill the gaps with Bondo.

2. I placed the woofer and the port like that. He left that up to me. No one has answered my question thus far as to why it is bad that they are like that.

3. I guess since he can't take a screen shot he must **** at life:rolleyes:

He actually explained to me why he didn't use screen shots, I just forgot

P.S. It was free

I dunno if you actually think it's a piece of shit or not, but you still haven't really answered my question. Since the woofer isn't firing directly into the port, what is the problem with where it is?
I chose where to put the port and woofer, not the designer.

I actually don't know his forum name, I forgot, but his SN is XxboogiemanxX
The spacing, the idea of the port in itself, the way it's going to act. It's not going to act like a traditional port.

When you design a ported enclosure... you basically want it to be designed (this includes woofer placement) so the only option is for the air to escape through the port. Basically you don't want it to be able to "choose" at all... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

With your design... there are several ways it's fucked up... in the sketch design there is two halves of the box that air can escape to... before it can decide where it wants to go...

Oh well... PROPER design FTW!!1

That's why not everyone should be allowed to design boxes.

EVERYONE thinks they can... the key word is thinks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...

I see what you mean. So you think it would have been better to put the woofer directly firing into the port?

Honestly, you may know what you're talking about, and I appreciate the advice, but your kind of a dick...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

With the speaker firing like it does, you are directly venting the speaker out the port, so in essence you horn loaded or manifold it. I bet it is really really really hot at a few frequencies and just normal or even lacking at other ones. Plus, with that port configuration does it allow enough air to pass when that sub is at full excursion? Seems like you would be choking the speaker and thus robbing it of quality and volume.... Just my thoughts..... I could be wrong……

I was a dick b/c I'm impatient with stubborn people who don't listen to advice..

I remember your other thread where you posted those designs... and I told you it was fucked up before hand... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif.

Seriously though, if you'd like me to design you a correct box... I'd be more than happy to.
