ok so im only 18, and just got some new tires for my 2006 civic ( 80amp alt) and i dont have enough money for both the high output alt and a new deep cycle bat. stupid tires!! Which will help my voltage drop issues the most? i did the big 3 with 0 guage...... and am still getting mad voltage drops ( sub actually skips bass lines and cuts in and out, and its not getting a clipped signal ) My amps are the kicker kx1200.1(1200 rms) and a little orion amp for my comps (60x2 rms ). i could either get a new high output alt, not sure what company to choose from : (. or get a new deep cycle battery and ditch the stock one and run the stock alt. or keep the stock bat upfront with the stock alt, and run a deep cycle in the back.

Which option will solve my problem????? i hate when i turn my system up and the bass lines cut in and out.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

What size wire are you running to your trunk and what size ground wire do you have and how did you install it?

Grounding issues can be the cause of bad voltage drops.

i got 4 gauge running to a dist block, then 8 gauge running to my comp amp, and 4 gauge running to my kx1200.1. ground wire at battery is 0 guage(bare metal), kx1200.1 is grounded with 4 gauge (bare metal), orion amp grounded with 8 guage ( bare metal)

NO I am not a professional but I have a 2000 Honda Civic with a stock battery up front and a Kinetik in the back. Everything is ran right my amp is a Autotek MX2000 and my lights still dim I can only imagine whats going to happen when I throw my Crunch GP 3000Pro in there Hopefully my lights will turn on lol You will need to do both extra battery and a HO Alt. You could go with a Powermaster if they make them for Hondas cant remember or Excessive Amperage or Iraggi

why would he need a HO alt too. HEs only running 1200 watts, most of the time a stock alt can handle with minimal upgrades.( like i said big 3 and extra batt in back). UR running almost twice the power ***

Hondas stock electrical system is very weak my you have to figure he has a 80 amp alt. Thats barely enough for the car, Then your adding a system with 2 amps drawing if at 1 ohm around 1400 watts if its the old model they have no external fuses so I am not sure how many amps it tries to pull. But that little alt. cant juice up 2 batteries to beat on daily maybe to burp but after 30-60 seconds of play you'll notice a diffrence when your secondary battery is drained

how should i run my bat in the back? parallel ? or can i just run a + from the front batt to the batt in the back and ground the battery in the back somewhere ?
