New Battery: Optima vs. Odyssey

I need a second battery for my system. I've got a Tsunami RDS monitor and it drops below 12.2V while the cars at speed. SO, i was told to either get a second battery or get a bigger one under the hood.

So....should i get get a 2nd battery (and replace the one under the hood) or get a larger one under the hood? Optima yellow top or Odyssey 1200/1700? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Look at the D31 Blue/Yellow top if your going to look at Optima...Whatever is cheaper IMO.

Aphinney, I was told that stinger batteries are made by Hawker Energy, the same copmany that makes odyssey and that, in more ways than none, identical and rebadged. If you look at cosmetics and physical appeareances, I'd say my man is right. But even then, thats a pain in the arse to relocate and run more wires. Whould a H.O. alternator be easier overall or just harder on the wallet?

your voltage is at 12.2 when driving? hmm less your car's supposed to be that low, I'd look into a higher amp alternator first....
