New Audioque Subwoofer (HDC3) PICS

PM'd DJ and this is the message i sent him, the bottom message was his reply

I know you must get this question 10 times a day, but any release date for the HDC3 yet? is it on a container ship yet? what the deal, because i have money in hand for a 15"

Also, you stated that the new HDC3 *should* be louder and have better SQ then the old HD3, but from peoples testing on here, it appears that they have a different sound to them then the HD3 had, and there not quite as loud as their predicessors?

also whats the warranty on these things? do you offer recones / etc

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is only one member on the forum who has tested any of the prototypes and he has tested only one of many. That person is J Ledgerwood. J was testing the sub for suspension durability and not for sq or spl. We were however very pleased with the sound quality even though the box was not tuned for best sq. With out going into details both J and I liked the sound better then the HD3 in the same setup.

The sub is very efficient and in my testing is at least as loud if not louder as the HD3 on the same power but will handle more power.

The HDC3 is not your average Chinese production sub with standard Chinese parts or production methods. We have selected a small established company to build our product and have introduced the Chinese to our "hand built" way of building subs and quality control. We have instructed the factory to take all the time needed to do it our way. It costs a little more but I know it's worth the extra cost. The last thing I am going to do is rush things at this stage of the game.

We will offer a warranty and recone kits will be available at very modest pricing.

Noway man.. Lokking for $500 and down!!
guess who got a soundstream 6500xxx for 550? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif:naughty:

I'll throw out my experience with the old HD's. Current box was around 8.5cubes @ 38Hz for 2 15's. I mostly listen to 80's metal, old school hip/hop & rap, and only play the newer stuff to demo it.

Box did hit the lows, but sounded sort of boomy on some songs, and was definitely more peaky. I extended the port and dropped tuning to 35Hz, so the box is around 8.25cubes now.

WAY better for kick drums when listening to metal, and on new stuff like the Akon/Snoop "I wanna F you" remix it flexes the rear window a good 1/2" or more. Couldn't tell you which tune was louder as I've never had it metered since it's just a DD, but the 35Hz tune is much better for the music I listen to.

For guys wanting to get as loud as possible and mostly playing newer rap, then 38-40Hz is probably right on...

any pics? ive got an 06 maxima, and im looking to do this:

2 15" hdc3s

6.5-7cubes around 38-40...mostly rap listening.

(dj said 3.5 per was optimal)

soundstream 6500xxx on a 12V putting around 4000rms if i heard right.

EA 200A alt.

2 kinetik 2400's

2/0 gauge wire.

have everything except the subs, amp is here on sunday, battery here next week, and wire when i do build.

oh boy i cant wait!!!

i did call Dj and asked if that rumor that they were out was true, and it wasnt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

The first run of subs are a slow process; I have spent over a year developing the HDC3 and we want to be sure the subs are the best they can be. The factory has been instructed to take all the time they need. The HDC3 is not your standard Chinese production sub.

The "build it yourself kits" are for those guys who like to build their own subs. They can build the suspension they want and have a wider choice of coils. They will also save money by building it themselves.

Sorry to be a bother.. i am trying to find out for myself and the long list of antsy customers

The sub will be louder at 40 hz but you can tune around 35-36 hz if you are concerned about the REAL low notes. We design our subs to play below box tuning. (very high BL,light moving mass and very stiff suspension) I've had many many endusers tell me the sub plays lower at 40 hz tuning then most subs play with 30-32 hz tuning. When you tune below 38-40 hz you may lose a little upper bass extension.
