New alternator = voltage too high!!!

I just installed my new dc alternator yesturday. As soon as i start the car, the voltage goes up in the 15.1-15v.... all my amp goes into protect... worst is that one of them blew as soon as it saw the 15v.

My car is an hyundai elantra 2004. it's supposed to have a external regulator. i tried inverting the wire on the dc harness (since the color didn't match) and the voltage was going even highier (around 15.8v)

how bad is it for the car batteries, and ecm. any way to bring it down a little? is it bad for the amp if they goes into protect as soon as i start the car (and obviously don't play). music start as soon as i shut the car down.

any help you be good. Where could i find an external regulator that could fit my harness?

actually there's no more maxxsonic amp in my car.

The amp that blow was my Diablo audio technologie prototype... i was warned it wouldn't love high voltage... but **** it took like a second and .... protect. it didn't even play a second

The other amp that goes into protect at 15v is my nakamitchi pa4100.. great quality amp... just don't like anything over 14.5v from what i see

i think i'll disconnect my rear batt so the amp will see 12v... i'll be listening to my music real low ... till i find something

edit: oh yeah while i was riding at 15.8v for half an hour yesturday, every meter in the dash froze. i though the ecm was done.... how bad is it ?

if its externaly regualted turn down it down some and if it internaly i want to say that got something that u can control your voltage so u can make it go up or down so u need to do some searching and find it quick b 4 u **** up your shit bad

actually, i don't have the control over anything... i think the ecm take car of the voltage. i just contact Xs power for a solution... still can i ride my car at 15.1v without harming anything in the electrical department?

i just did some more testing trying to put the max strain on the alt... voltage goes down to 14.3 and the nak amp start again... (while i'm downing all 4 windows, ac at max, all light on, seat heater....)

it will b finr as long as you dont go to much over 15.5 and i something else i just thought of i dont know if this will work but go to ur local mechanic and see if he can plug into your computer and change it bc i know they can change some other shit on cars so see if they can do that

you ecm has protection in it that keeps its volatge to 12v it runs off 12v not 14v so with your alt putting out 15v it should be fine but one thing you should watch is your headlights they might blow ive seen this happen from high voltage i would take it easy on things until you can get the voltage down
