Just looking at the new type R coax's. They can handle 100 rms. Has anybody heard these yet?? Looks like Aline is stepping it up a notch. Might be worth a serious look.

I personally don't think I would ever buy some Type R speakers again after mine. Just too harsh overall for me, and not enough midbass.

That's just me though.

Do you have a link though of where you saw them?

Sonic electronix is selling them already. If the technology is significantly improved over the last ones I may try the comps, but new Type-Xs should be out soon

I just say these also, I was pretty set on polk mmc650 coaxials till I saw these new alpines. Now i'm stuck. Can anyone help me?

Yes help is here. lol The polk momo's are beautful speakers. Who cares what the grill look like. I would take the polk's. I speak from expereince.

id go with Polk... they are a proven well designed speaker. Much better choice than taking a gamble with a speaker no one has tried out yet. Its like buying a car.. don't buy the first year of a new model.. it always has recalls.
