They should pwn them.

I think they will fit fine in your truck. If they dont you have LOTS of room to make a 3/4" baffle.

You might need to cut out the plastic that surrounds the opening though.

whats pwn mean? if I cut the plastic, would that be really noticable from the outside of the panel? i want to keep it as stealth as possible.

not to sound like the noob that I am!, but how will these compare to the CDT hd62s that i just got? will they be able to mount in the door of my 98 GMC sierra?
I'm sure that these will be like 123409x better. As for the fit you'll have to measure, they said 3.5" depth, but you can always change that with the right tools, cut some mdf and mount it on that, maybe some door panel modification.

It means that they'll kick your cdt's in the nuts.

pwn= own= owned= dissed really badly

It wont make any cosmetic differences in the front of the panel. The grille covers it all up.

I dont even know why GM did that anyways.

Well they have a ton of xmax and reasonable power handling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Just IB or sealed you have a high f3 -- a little EQ will correct that -- or a ported kick. or just live with a relaxed yet accurate midbass... Just watch out for clipping if you boost the midbass...
1 watt of power will get you about the same amount of bass with these as 1 watt with the extremis... Our new 6.5" is just so sensitive that relatively speaking it sounds like less bass.... In other words simple EQ/boost features on your head unit = lots of low end SPL potential.
So, will they disappoint me HP @63hz 24dB/oct slope. I currently have XXX6.5's love the LFE. I'm just looking for something that will extend higher than them, which from what I read...these are the ticket.

Yea they will sound a little thin @63hz 24dB/oct if you don’t use any EQ -- they will create plenty of spl at 63hz (about the same as the XXX6.5s).... just they will create so much more spl in the midrange that the lower freq are overshadowed (again without some sort of bass boost... if it is boosted though it will sound normal -- PLENTY of xmax to go arrnd and they are sensitive enough down low that you will still get good SPL out of them.., and the mids will be much more detailed and extended -- not to mention you could rly almost use these as dedicated bass or midbass drivers just fine with an active lowpass -- could rly be used as a small subwoofer about on par with RE RE 8 -- slightly less output though (1-2dB) and in the same box size ported your xmax is limited below the tuning freq a little faster than the RE 8... Rather useful for home audio due to the fact that baffle width can be kept small //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ).

Going to be using 10 of these -- 8 as mini powered subwoofers in some towers for home audio -- 2 of them as mids with http://www.madisound.com/neopro5i.html as the tweeter -- if nothing else I'm going to use them -- but they should turn into a rather nice very high end home audio line... along with smaller versions of this setup... Should be able to pull about 94-95dB/w sensitivity out of this setup with nearly full baffle step -- and reasonable power handling to say the least. Realistic levels should be produced with next to no distortion (well considering they ARE 6.5" speakers -- even though there are 8 of them distortion will creep up a little bit at the very bottom... but still very acceptable -- I'd expect them to do about as well as if RE RE 8s were used... considering these are XBL^2 -- and the REs are 8s...) down to about 30hz... where a monster sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif can take over

But oh so sexy.. nice narrow baffle + bass = a happy family

Werd. I've been contemplating keeping the XXX6.5's and getting some horns to extend into near the sub 1khz range HP w/ 24dB/oct....or some new 6.5's

With the horns, I'd prolly run into some sort of mounting problems, ideally I'd want a 30band EQ per side, and it would just end up costing 3-4 times as much...and a lot more time.

So, these 6.5's seem to be the ticket...at least for now until I can afford the proper horn setup.
