Yep -- or a ribbon -- or just a rly darn dynamic tweeter... 93dB/w or higher would be nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif -- 92 is FINE... 91 is..... fine.... 90 is... less than ideal... Can always put a little bit of baffle step into the transfer function -- bring up the midbass a little bit in level relative to sensitivity at 1khz and have it work just fine.

Think about that -- a pair of 6.5s as mids -- and 8 of the mids *hah -- talk about a multipurpose driver* as subs (powered) in a floor stander //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

We can get all the way to 126 dB full range 80-20khz with a pair *outside* @ 1 meter -- 130 isn't too far off for transient response...

The frequency response can be extended with an f3 of 27hz -- only at about 115dB there though... 120 @ 30 -- 122 @50...

Well assuming they come to spec when we measure them -- and things change in room a bit too...

Still... Gives you an idea of possible dynamic range with what bass management implemented...

Granted this is a monster…. But it doesn’t take up much floor space

^^^^^^^^ yep -- not to mention these are mids that deserve a good tweeter... Their design goal was high output while maintaining SQ *AND* bass at a good price -- There rly isn’t much of a way to improve on this design with these goals in mind with conventional techs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif -- we can lose some depth with a neo motor... if we rly try at it -- and on the basket but at some point you have to start trading off quality for depth I can see mid-high 2" instead of 3.25" with neos w/o much sacrifice and only a med. price increase... A radically different cone and basket ($$$...) would be required to gain much more on quality *and* decrease depth more -- but yea thats not gonna be happening for awhile -- other things to do first.
