Needs Advise/Tips for running at .5 ohm

It's been a long time since some guys on here helped me put together my first big system and I'm in the end stages of putting together a bigger system.

I got a SKv2 3500 and some X18 D2's. I think my electrical should be able to handle it, I'm gonna add a 2 battery eventually. I have a 300a Excessive Amperage hairpin, a G34 AGM I got a local used battery place and a brand new XS Power XP3000 coming in the mail. Planning to get another later. Dual runs of 2/0 ofc welding cable from the alt to the start battery and will be to the new battery and then to the amp. I have a pretty big box so I dont think I'll get much box rise. It wasn't even a factor really in my last set up. I think I'll need to add a bilge fan in the near future. I'm know running at .5 will get amps hot. Just wondering form people with more experience if it looks like I'm headed in the right direction. I'm gonna set the gains with a DMM I know it's not the best way but I better than guessing.

Looks like you are going the right direction.I would advise not trying >5 ohm till you get the XS in and hooked up.To help keep the amp cooler..Raise it off the mounting surface approx.1/2 inch min. can be done with washers or Alum. spacers that come in a package of like 3(Never to seem to get an even # in a bag) at H.Depot or Lowes,Looks nice as well Get some air under the amp and use a fan to keep running cool is what I do to all my amps.I use Scroll fans.Work fine for me

I use these Scroll fans.54 CFM, plenty of air movement and easy to mount. Poss. Wire I tap into the remote on amp and ground to Solid Distro Ground block.Comes on when amps turn on and off when off
Thanks for the fan suggestion. Yea j have this set up in a 93 Caravan. The amp wont be here until next Monday and I need to get some more ofc for the sub wiring. I'm not gonna rush it by no means. And as for the amp I normally cut out a piece of ¾ birch to mount the amp to, then I buy the large rubber stoppers(cork shaped) and use them to dampen vibration and let air under the amp. Then I use a bolts to hold the mount board to the floor so it's very hard to steal.

Have you tried that amp at .5ohm? You can have all the cooling and power you want if it cant handle that load its not going to last. I know my old RF Punch Power 50M s could go down to .25

No I haven't personally, but the SKv2 series Skar puts out is known to work really well at .5ohm amongst the Skar groups. It's a very well made Korean amp

These arent very loud are they? I've seen and heard those bilge fans before and they are super loud. I see a different o e with the brushless motors but same style I was looking at.

Im not sure what you mean by LOUD? Sitting at idle with the volume down you can hear them running, and very low volume. It doesnt bother me any. Once the volume is up, good luck trying to hear it running. I buy these due to reliability and how they have lasted and never had an issue with the brand or style.being in a van, and placed in the rear, thats quite a distance of travel for the noise to reach the drivers seating.Any fan will work with a decent CFM value. The more CFM movement, More than likely the more noticeable the sound of course( such as a 40-50 CFM fan verses a 75-105 CFM )
