Ok just wanted to see if everybody thought that buying this 2001 Tahoe LT for $8000 with 140k miles, with brand new 20s and tires put on friday was a good deal, does have a broken windsheild, that the dealer is gunna fix!! The truck is very clean for the most part, and drives and runs great, we really like it, and i have always been in the car/truck market, so i think its a great deal for the Tahoe!!! Let me know what you think about it!!! And my system would sound very good in this!! LOL

Those 5.3L Vortecs and the 4L60E trannys last for ever, my 1999 chevy silverado had 213k when i sold that, and it ran perfect, and looked perfect looked drove and ran like a truck with half its miles, but the miles are the last thing that worry me, i can get a motor for $600 if that ever went bad, and i can rebuild trannys so i dont ever worry about that!!!

i would of offered 6500 for it
Agreed. But prove you are ready to buy then if they do it for 6500. As far as the 140k. Truth be told any motor prob over 80k depends on how past owner took care of it. I have seen TONS of motors blow at 100k and tons that last till 250k. Same type of motors as well. Just depends on upkeep . Now don't get me wrong there are certain problem series of motors from companies. But if you are sold on a tahoe the 140k is totally irrelevant. Just check all the fluids for sign of problems

8000.00 seems fairly reasonable for the year and mileage of the tahoe. I would shoot a little low though its not going to hurt any. I would also have your dealer pull a gmvis on the car to see what warranty claims it has had what issues the car has had just to give you a clear idea of how the previous owner/owners took care of the car and what problems they had. A car fax is ok but it will not give you the information that a gmvis will give you. Also, common sense would be to check the engine out, oil, transmission etc.

I almost bought a lemon escalade and my fathers friend who sells cars pulled up the gmvis and the computers were worked on most of the electrical went wrong the tyrods were replaced etc. The dealership wasnt going to disclose this to me until I told them about it and told them I didn't want to buy it for fear of it breaking down on me.

Just make sure you go through everything thoroughly I dont like seeing dealerships taking people like a lot of them do. Personally, I like the look of the Tahoe and I love that color. Hopefully you decide on what your going to do if not take your time and search for more there is always more trucks out there.

x2 Mileage doesn't tell the whole story...
First Maxima that we found had 50k on it and it was a POS. My car currently has 123k and it runs flawlessly. Bought it with 100k...

My brother has never had a problem with his tahoe, which is a 97 I believe with 180K +

Here are some pics of the motor, but here in iowa where i live thats cheap, for a 2001 Tahoe, it was a trade in, and a married couple had it, then the dealer put the new rims and tires on it, i like it alot, i have not bought it yet, just driving it!!!
