my dd 9515 is acting strange. it's a dual 2 ohm, and im trying to biamp it w/jbl 1200's. i wired each coil seperate. when i hook one up to one jbl and leave the other one not powered, it sounds like its a 1 or 2 ohm load, when i touch the other coil (pos/neg) together, sounds like series load (4 ohm 600watts)and when i plug 2nd coil into 2nd amp, it stays at 4ohms it sounds like. so what to do!? thanks!

well i could be wrong.. but i beleive it has 2x 4 ohm VC's, meaning u wire it in paralell and u get a 4 ohm load (600 watts) to each VC. not sure what u mean by the rest, maybe that helped?

But I'm really serious...how can you hear what different loads sound like? Is there less quality in the amp (more distortion) or was that just a figure of speech?

well u wont hear a load, ull hear more watts going into the speaker. ohm will determine how many watts ur feeding ur sub. a higher ohm will make the amp work harder, and will pull more amps from ur electrical system.

umm higher ohm produces less power and draws far less current than a lower ohm
