Need to know, volts to amp

Hey guys, I have a 2000wrms soundstream mono block amp and it said on the box it needs 14.4 volts to run it, I have the stock battery/Altinator setup and it's only getting 12.4 volts, I need to know what will happen if I just run it at 12.4 volts and not the 14.4 it needs, will it affect sound, output, clipping or anything else please let me know everything that could possibly happen

Just another question I want to upgrade the big 3, what do I need and how easy is it to do

Thankyou to everyone that helps me out its greatly appreciated

if you're getting 12.4v with the engine running there's a problem with your alternator.

But to answer your question -- less power.

Big three difficulty depends on the car.

You just need plenty of wire - again, depends on the car. Probably 10-20'. You also need the necessary wire terminals.

And if you're using huge wire you'll need a tool/method to fasten the terminals on the wire.

dropping to 12.4v doesnt exactly mean there is a problem with the alt. Its probably his alt just cant keep up with what the amp is drawing. Probably a small alt

also didnt realize that he didnt specify if thats while playing with the engine running or not so it could go either way
