Need to know if I got enough power to handle this 10 inch sub?

I got a pioneer 10"sub model TS-W29C, Wired to an Eclipse EA-3422 bridged. I am just wondering if it underpowered. It seems that anything I do it still sounds like ***. Now I know it's not the best, it's just what I have for now. Plans to upgrade to a new amp and sub as funds allow. Specs for the Eclipse below as well as a pic of the sub and box.

Thanks

I also forgot to mention that, that is not my current wiring. I have since ripped out the interior and did it right.

It should be an ok amount of power. However, I would feed it 250rms. The amp you have is probly 140wats RMS @ 4ohms for one side bridged.
Thanks for the reply.

I guess I need to trade up in both regards eh!

What would be some good setting to start with on the amp. I am just looking for a good place to start.

Thanks again

Roman

Starting point would be to buy a mono block amp that has more than enought power. This way you can add another sub later. Use the 4 channel for what it was intended to do. Run four channels. When you get that mono block amp, you will deffinately need up amplify your speakers. So. Go over to the amplifier section and look for a $300-$400 Monoblock amp, or look in the classifieds. But watch your ***, there be some scamming *** pricks up in here.

He's already got more power than the sub is rated for. Its possible, but I doubt he'll see a significant increase in performance by purchasing more 'headroom' watts. I have seen it happen before (heard it), but imo he's running a sub rated at 120 watts with 140 watts (rated specs), its a starter system that's already very close to the point of saying he's getting his money's worth out of it, time to upgrade if he wants significant improvements.

But 'sounds like ***' could mean a lot of things too. There may simply be an install problem (low voltage for various reasons, poor signal quality for various reasons, leaky box, etc). Maybe have a local shop check out the system to make sure its wired correctly.
