Need to fuse?

I'm running a small PG amp and a viper 2500. I have a run of 1/0 wire from my battery to the trunk. It's fused about a foot from the battery. Do I need to fuse it in the trunk too at the distribution block or can I run an unfused distribution block?

You don't need to fuse it again if you don't want to, the 1 fuse will protect the whole circuit, and those amps both probably have onboard fuses to protect themselves. A distro block will make everything clean though, but it's not required.

if you change the wire size, then yes, you should fuse. fuses protect the WIRE.

if you have 1/0 running to trunk and then 4 running to amps, get a fused distro. but if you're runnign 1/0 to the amps (unlikely), then you have no need to fuse. simple.

If the run of 4 awg is only about 2 feet from the distribution block, it isn't necessary to fuse, is it?
