I would fab a base for your door panel out of 1/4 particle board, and then cut some rings from MDF and place them and build out from there. You can cover it with whatever will flow well with the rest of the interior of your truck. I like tweed, but I am from the oldschool minitruck era. Vinyl is also nice and can be stretched and padded where needed to fill in and mold the panel to your liking. Also I would coat your wood with at least a coat or 2 of fiberglass resin to seal it from moisture before it is permantly installed and covered.what kind of wood do you recomend?
sounds like a plan to me. i guess that ressin would be best because i wouldn't need to refinish it ever 6 years or so like a wood finish would require. any suggested strucural builds or pics to kinda get me going in the right directionI would fab a base for your door panel out of 1/4 particle board, and then cut some rings from MDF and place them and build out from there.
