I would say 3db as twice loud is pretty accurate though...

With the box built correct and what not yes the jl can get pretty loud, but it is under rated from all 3 choices though the jl needs the least power and 800 watts is gonna be plenty, but the kicker and alpine can hold that and then some leaving it a little hungry for some power....addded the amp is a lanzar it probably will show 300 to 500rms

jl is very underrated, i know someone with a 1000/1 running 2 12w0s, and it sounds great! of course at extreme volumes it will distort but they are clean and still manage to get fairly loud

i got 1000 class d amp pushing 500 to two jlw3v2 12's

running at 1ohm!

so they can get the power, as long as u have ur amp tuned!!

i have an alpine hu and at volume 3 its beating hard!

Jmac you said what I said....I said the kicker would have the worst sq, but the best bass....also I said the alpine and kicker could hold more power than the jl, but the jl can hold more then it claims, but also with the amp he has its not gonna give me 800watts.......

Yea if you want a 15 and sq then yes the type-r is the cheapest and gets the job done, but however you could get a kicker solobaric 12 cheaper and have major thunderous bass...whateva you want..........
