I heard a pair of the 15's while I was in the states for the summer and I would compare them to the fosgate he2 15's, the sound is pretty close and the bass is good, but the vocal part is not very good, but its decent you cant expect much though from a lower quality company

ok, maybe i am taking this all wrong. do u guys think that a pair of 12's will hit harder than one 15" with a total of 800 watts rms put to it? (that means that the twelves would get 400 watts a piece or the 15 would get 800 watss bridged) if the twelvs hit harder, then could someone tell me good subs to get that cost less than $230 total?

Depending the box and everything you can have 2 12's sound alot better than 1 15 I know for a fact you could get 2 10's to sound just as good as a 15, but I can give you some good choices to meet your price range..

1st 2 alpine type-r 12's = 238$ hopefully you would spend the extra 8$ they are badass subs.

2nd 2 alpine type-s 12's = 210$

3rd 2 fosgate punch he2 12's = 238$

they all could hold 400watts, but you would be better off showing them 300rms...

ok, let's say i have a choice of 1 15" Alpine type R or 2 12" Alpine type R's, and i fed them the same amount of power. Which setup would be the loudest and have the better sq?

I would say the type-r 12's because it would be around 600rms and the alpine type-r 15 is rated higher than that I think, but also you will need a good box and some fine tunning........

ok, srry for all of the questions, but i think there is one more, hopefully:banghead: . Which of these subwoofers will have the best spl/sq combo (theoretically): 15" Audiobahn Flame Q, 15" Alpine Type R, 15" Kicker Solo Baric L5, or 15" JL Audio W3? I would have to say the alpines or the kickers, but the jl is my favorite since im a jl fan.....good luck

the JL or the alpine, kicker doesn't even compare in the sq category....I own the alpine type r 15 and am running 1060 rms to it....clean clean clean.....in a sealed box...

If you want some major thump in your trunk get 2 alpine type-R 15's and 2 jbl bp 600.1 to run them and you will blow all your friends away and have no hearing if you sit in the car more than 30 minutes crusien the strip playing the volume at high levels

yeah, it would be a ported box in the trunk of a z34. would anyone happen to know the number of ports/the length and dia. of the port(s) for an alpine type r in a ported box?

It depends on how many type-r you have and what size, but I would guess 1 huge port for a single 15 type-r tunned to 30hz

what type of type r do u recommend me to get: the dual 4 ohm vc or the dual 2 ohm dvc. my amp is pictured here: http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=VIBE245 . also, do u know if this amp will perform fine at 2 ohm bridged?
