Need suggestions on my new system...

I have 2 Kicker S12L7's and i want something louder and better SQ. My firend suggested a buch of 8 inch subs and i like that idea. I have around 5-6cu.ft. So do you guys have any idea of what kind i should buy and what amps? My friend suggested 2 elemental desigen amps that run 1200x1 rms each. So plz a lil help would be nice.

Are you going to pick out the amps first, and then match the RMS and impedance levels of the quantity of subs, or vice versa?

You need to plan out what equipment you will use, and how many, to make sure that you can as accurately as possible match the impedance and RMS, to get the full potential out of all the equipment. No sense in buying an Orion 2500D (for example), if your final ohm load is at 2 ohms.

i think ill first look at the subs and go form there, i am looking to get around 6-8 of them depending on how much they will cost i really want to run two amps so i can make like half of the subs hit than the other half hit at a different time.

I don't think you would want to do that, the phase difference would cancel each other out I think.

man i have heard ur subs and i thought they were pretty **** good.. but idk i havent heard that many 8s what kind where u lookin into?

well... i was hoping some ppl would give me some suggestions on what kind but so far i have looked at Kicker, JL audio, JBL, MTX, and RE's. Out of those i liked the Kicker, JBL, JL, and RE's.

If you have half of your subs hit, and then the other half- the phase variation will likely cancell each other out and sound like dookie. To see what I mean, take one of your front mids, and reverse the phase- you get very little midbass output. Same thing with the subs. I love the old-school Kicker solobarics (round ones) those 8's are nice. I have 2 I'm thinking about selling, though finding another 6 might be difficult.
