So I recently got my first car (02 civic si) and I'm looking to put some high quality car audio in it. I've been studying car audio for a while but i dont really have any first hand experience so all help would be appreciated. Below is my budget and I would be thrilled if i could get opinions on what to buy. What I'm looking for is SQ and I dont really care how loud it gets, as long as everyone in the car can feel it im cool.

My Basic Plain

- 1 15in sub, Budget: $350

- Amp for 15, Budget: $250-300

- 4 chanel Amp for interior, Budget:$150

- Box, Budget: $125

- Alpine Type X component speakers, Are these any good? My friend wants $145 and they are barely used.

- Speakers for rear, Budget: $175 for both.

I will be installing everything myself so any tips for a first time installer would be great. I plan on having all the parts by June and will make an awesome worklog.

well your off to a good start...you can get a good 15" for 350

for you, i might suggest a sealed box, even if its ported it wont cost you $150

take the money you save from the box, forget rear speakers, and upgrade something else such as your components or get a HU

15" FI Q, if you only want one sub. With the ability to push 1K watts cleanly, the Q would be a definite option for ya. It's only $279 BNIB.
Cant find any places that carry that brand

I tried: Onlinecarstereo, woofersetc and sonic electronics. Goggled it too but couldn't find anyplace that looked reputable. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Yeah go with the Fi Q 15. Get the dual 2 ohm VCs.

As for an amp here is a decent one thatll push it nicely.

Heres a good 2 channel amp for your components, it should push most components nicely, you may have to change depending on what components you get.

As far as components go the Type-Xs sound very good but their output is somewhat lacking. I really dont know a whole lot about components so someone else can help you there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Do you have wiring already? If not heres a good amp kit for you.

Run this to the rear of the car and then go to a dist block and from there an 8 awg run from the dist block to the component amp and a 1/0 run from dist block to sub amp. So you will need an extra maybe 5ft of 4 awg and a dist block. Heres a good dist block .

Maybe theres another cheaper way to do this if there is i dont know. Maybe someone else has more insight on this.
