Need some speaker help. Not working

Hey, I bought a truck that had something stolen from the sound system and I posted on here a while back about what it would be and was told that I needed a 4 channel amp. I finally got around to buying one and I hooked it up (as good as I knew how) and its playing music now but only in the rear speakers. I have switched the other two sets of speaker wires around and still nothing from the fronts, not even static. I did notice that I have one wire still cut that I have no clue where it goes, it consists of 4 tiny wires (yellow, green, black, and red) all wrapped together in black insulation. Does anybody know what this wire could be? My truck will not play the radio either, just cd's. I have messed with the deck to make sure it wasn't faded all the way to the rear. When i did this I set it all the way to the rear and the rear speakers quit playing, then I faded all the way to the front, and the rear speakers played fine. So that is backwards somehow? The deck is old and outdated, its a Sony CDX-M610 and I would like to get somethings newer, but it has all the rockford fosgate frequency and sub volume knobs and whatever else that crap is surrounding it. Would it be just as simple changing the cd player in it as if those knobs were not there or do you think they are all connected under the dash? I know its a long shot me fixing this myself as the sound system was a custom job and was professionally done im sure. I tried to trace wires but found that this whole interior of the truck was stripped out to install this stuff and I could not find where anything went to.

Thanks for any help with this mess. I'll try to take pictures later on to show exactly what i'm working with.

we need pics to help you .you might wanna just run new wires for the frt speakers ,also do you have 2 sets of rca's for the 4 channel amp ? as far as the deck radio not working ,might be the antenna not connected or the deck just may be bad ,either way you need to pull it out to check it.

i'm working on pics. I did figure out the knob stuff I was talking about over my deck is a Rockford Fosgate PA2 equalizer (not even sure what it does). and yes I have 2 sets of rca lines. the rca's are black and red from the truck, and the amp has red and white ports to plug them in. I plugged red to red and black to the white spots (im not even sure if thats hooked up right). I will try to take pictures of the stuff...it seems like the subs work fine, just the speakers are messed up. Only the amp under the drivers seat was stolen, the one under the pass. side seat was not messed with so i'm guessing it's already hooked up right for the subs.

well your still a bit vague about what you think is going on ,i understand that the frt speakers aren't working off the amp.but the cut wires i'm not sure that they have anything to do with the amp or speakers thats why the pics are needed
