Hey, I bought a truck that had something stolen from the sound system and I posted on here a while back about what it would be and was told that I needed a 4 channel amp. I finally got around to buying one and I hooked it up (as good as I knew how) and its playing music now but only in the rear speakers. I have switched the other two sets of speaker wires around and still nothing from the fronts, not even static. I did notice that I have one wire still cut that I have no clue where it goes, it consists of 4 tiny wires (yellow, green, black, and red) all wrapped together in black insulation. Does anybody know what this wire could be? My truck will not play the radio either, just cd's. I have messed with the deck to make sure it wasn't faded all the way to the rear. When i did this I set it all the way to the rear and the rear speakers quit playing, then I faded all the way to the front, and the rear speakers played fine. So that is backwards somehow? The deck is old and outdated, its a Sony CDX-M610 and I would like to get somethings newer, but it has all the rockford fosgate frequency and sub volume knobs and whatever else that crap is surrounding it. Would it be just as simple changing the cd player in it as if those knobs were not there or do you think they are all connected under the dash? I know its a long shot me fixing this myself as the sound system was a custom job and was professionally done im sure. I tried to trace wires but found that this whole interior of the truck was stripped out to install this stuff and I could not find where anything went to. Thanks for any help with this mess. I'll try to take pictures later on to show exactly what i'm working with.
