I'm making some changes to my sound system in my 05 Toyota Tacoma and would like some input.

I'm replacing my 4 channel amp with an Apline PDX 100.4 Ive heard and read good things about it.

Im running Focal 165V2S in my doors now, their RMS is 150. Heres my question, should i bridge the Alpine amp and push 200W to the speakers? Is this safe, or should i just run the 100W to the speakers, many birth sheets ive seen online actually show the alpine producing 123W per channel which is pretty good. But would bridging the amp to my focal be a good idea?

Im also thinking about putting my Dayton RSF 180's in the rear doors of my access cab Tacoma. Would this help with rear fill? The Daytons will probably be getting 123W is that to much? As of right now im only running speakers up front. Any input would be great.

I really want to run active but i dont know how to do it. Any one in the Temecula or Murrieta California area know how? I rather take it to someone who is familiar with this setup, than a shop who just thinks they know what they're doing.

Also whats the better sub between an Image Dynamic and JL Audio.

I have a JL Audio 12W3V3 right now but im looking to replace it for a 2ohm sub to get more power from my mono amp. Would i hear a difference between the two brands?

Thanks.

I would bridge the amp to the speakers or bi amp them through the crossover, if their capable. More power is better if you use it wisely, meaning setting your gains correctly. If you want rear fill, most use the deck power to accomplish this.

just becuase an amp will do a certain amount of power doesnt mean you have to give the speakers that much its called setting gains correctly
Yes i know about setting the gains correctly. I'm not to worried about having the Focals receive to much power, as i know it will benefit them. BUt i just want to make sure 200W isnt to much.

Thanks, i think ill pass on the rear fill. Since its a small cab i doubt they would make a difference, it would probably mess with my front stage.

Got any advice on the subs?

Im thinking about either getting a 2ohm sub to get the 300W from my mono amp, or just simply replacing the amp to give my JL12W3v3 4 ohm sub some more power. Its only getting 150W right now.

Would i see any improvement in sound quality if i replace my kicker 4channel Amp.

I have a KX350.4 Amp pushing my focals at the moment. Would i hear an improvement in sound quality if i go with a Alpine PDX 100.4?

Id keep the jl sub and get a 500/1 to run it, most here will say that jl is overpriced but from my exsperience their stuff is high quality and will last and it will match your sub as well. I bought my 500/1 used on e-bay for under $300 (I cant remember the exact price right now).

Thanks for the input. I think one reason i dont want to get that amp, which ive been wanting for a very long time now. Is because of its size. Would it fit under a seat?

Im not shure if it would fit under a taco front seat. There not that big, but if ll space is a concern, then look at an alpine pdx, those aren cheap either. I know their are less exspensive options out their that others will be abe to help you with.

I went ahead and got an Alpine PDX 150.4 and a Kicker 750.1

Will i be safe with giving that much watts to the focals? There RMS is 150W. And my birth sheet says the amp is 163per channel. I hope i dont have to replace these speakers as they were quite expensive.

YES absolutely...Kicker is not known for sound quality where Alpine is and the PDX's are no exception. They sound great, are small, run efficiently, and put out a good amount of power. I don't know what you Kicker is putting out but I am sure it is comparable in watts to the alpine. If it is then the PDX should be an improvement in SQ as long as you have a good deck.
