Thats right bishes...
Ok, i have a 2005 V12 amp that will be pushing my sub, and it has the output for this amp link kit..

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3923.html

so what im wondering is if ANY alpine head unit will work with this thing, or if i have to get one of the older ones. If not, then does anyone know which will work for it or how i can find that out without looking at every single HU? Thanks.

hmm..well thats interesting. i didnt even see that part.. i did however find this on alpines site...

The CDA-9855 and CDA-9853 models also feature Alpine's exclusive Amplifier Link™ technology, which enables drivers to control up to eight 4-channel or mono amplifiers directly through the head unit. Using the KCE-511M Amplifier Link interface box ($50), amplifier status, such as temperature, voltage and fan indications, can be displayed on the head unit.

soo now im confused, alpine is saying only the 9853 and 9855 have the input, yet that other site says anything with a cd changer can use it....

If you want to control the amp from the HU, the Alpine HU that you get must be Ai-NET compatible. No way around it.
ok, so im assuming the only ones that have that capability are the 9853 or 9855? So thats what i need to look for then? Or is there a way i can find more of them?

ended up buying the 9853 anyway, its the only one that was confirmed on the alpine website, and i didnt feel like getting something that wasnt right. Only paid 120 for it, so i got a good deal.

The 9853 have the glide touch tooo? If so Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had three Alpine 9855's all with bad glide touches, the ipod acess is way slooooow! You can use that amp link with any of the newer units and some old ones. Any HU with an "A" in the model number is "ai-net" compatable.

yes, it has the glide touch. ive heard mixed reviews, if nothing else i can sell it later on. its already bought and on its way, so too late now.
