Sony CDX-GT81UW Or Pioneer 6900

My friend is interested in both of these headunits, both of which i can get for around $180. Which one is better in terms of SQ? The Sony has a 3 band Parametric EQ while the Pioneer has its EEQ 7 band. Isnt the 6900 the same as the 7900 just no bluetooth? How about the Eclipse CD4000?

Any other suggestions for something new under $200 is fine. Thanks

Definitely Pioneer for SQ. Sony makes decent head units but when compared to pioneer or eclipse, well there is no comparison.

Well then 6900 comapred to the Eclipse 4000 then? Only real difference i see is that the 6900 has a more powerful amp built in which i dont need, and one more preset EQ option. I cant even find out if the 4000 has a USB plug and what kind of EQ it has. Any ideas where i can get the manual? I dont see it on the Eclipse website.

The eclipse only has a 3-band eq and i dont think it has USB. And as far as the internal amp, I'd be surprised if either of those could put out more than 15 rms.

Or directly enter the Eclipse web page, type on Downloads and then pick at 2006 Brochure.

I will also get the 6900, CD4000 does not has USB port and also does not comes with dethachable face like other Eclipses (of course CD3100, CD5100, CD7100 comes with det.face).

I don't know if this is a plus for you.
