Need Some Advice Putting Together My First System

I want to put a system in my 1979 Cadillac Eldorado and was looking for some input.

This is my first system and I'm on a tight budget, I don't think the budget matters very much because (1) I don't care at all about being loud and (2) I've been riding around listing to FM radio on stock speakers in a '86 Toyota for the past 12 months and I imagine any upgrade will sound like gold to my ears.

All I'm really looking for is decent to good sound quality, a little bass, and as funny as it sounds, a head unit that displays iTunes album art. This is what I've got planned out right now:

Head Unit: Alpine iDA-X305S (also looking at Pioneer MVH-P7300 and DEH-P9400BH)

Speakers: Image Dynamics 6.5" Ctx65c

I plan on having HU and speakers installed in the next couple of days but eventually I plan on installing an amp and two 10's maybe Dayton Audio RSS265HO-4.

Any advice or recommendations looking at this prospective set up?

Also a local audio shop quoted $150 to install the Alpine HU alone. Does that sound about right?

not bad for the deck installed .get some components for the frt doors and a 10 inch woofer and amp and you'll prolly be good for a bit .you'll still need wires and a box tho

You really recommend a complete newb to go for a self install on their first system?

Could you point me in the right direction of any resources or learning material that might help?

Would the age and make/model of my car make it easier or harder versus a more modern car?

Sounds like a setup I'd run. I had two Dayton 10s for a minute also had ID CTXs but I never installed them
