Ok, right now i am currently running 2 12" 8ohm MTX 7000s, Im looking at 2 12" dvc hifonic HFX12D4 HF Series. I want to know if these would sound better than my 7000s, Ive heard good things about the hifonics but i want to be sure before i purchase them and end up disappointed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

$25 sub will sound like ****.

I don't think the Hifonics will be better. Link a pic of your MTX's. One off google images would be fine. I just need to be sure we're talking about the same MTX 7000's.

Hifonics makes good amps, but not really good subs

Ok thanks for the advice, im getting a sealed probx. I am currently running a kenwood 8105d amp, so with a new box i hopefully will see some improvement.
Build a ported box for them, or have one built. Prefab boxes are shittty

a sealed probox is a waste of money
I was under the impression that mtx were designed for sealed enclosures..Am i wrong? if so we have a few shops here in town that build custom boxes so i can have a ported or vented box built fairly cheap.

You can build a nice ported box for like $75. 3/4 MDF, Liquid Nail, New table saw blade, nail gun nails (brad)

Signal flow should be HU to DSP to amps. You would lose the ability to EQ and time align the sub with the DSP unit if you bypassed the DSP.
