:Sorry for the long post:

Alright fellas. I am currently 19, living at home, and working. I hate the area where I live because all my friends go to college (about 35 min away), and I end up driving out there every night to hang out. I want to get closer to their area. I also plan on going back to a community college down here which is even farther then the school my friends go to. My work is also close to the college that my friends go to.

OPTION 1: 2 friends that go to the college asked me to get a 3 bedroom with them right on campus. I would be perfect distances between work and the community college. These kids also are all about the whole "college life" thing, so I think I would have a lot of fun if I moved in. Only some problems are holding me back..

First, the area is not the best, in fact I made a thread about this earlier. I am EXTREMLEY scared of my car getting broken into here. Especially after I just bought an in-dash moniter with no detachable face. I would be afraid every night of my car. I have seen shady people walking around the area (not the particular apartment complex, just around it) at night and stuff, and my car is easy to break into as far as how it is built.

I would also be afraid of too much partying, messes, etc... considering I work early weekends most of the time. This is also a 3 bedroom with only 1.5 bathrooms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif . It is CHEAP though, perfect for my budget. The car issue scares me the most by FAR though.

OPTION 2: A friend who I work with wants me to move in with him badly bacause his current roomate is a moron. We would get a 2 bedroom for probably more money which is not good for me. He is much older then me (24), so he is past the whole partying thing, so it would be more like home where I go out all the time coming home to a quiet place. This is good and bad, because I want to have fun, but I also want quiet and be able to sleep on saturday nights. He does not want to live right on campus, so I would still be a little farther from my friends and everything going on. He has a nice car too so we would get a nicer place and I wouldnt have to worry about my car all day and night. Basically here I would have less of a good time/experience, but I wouldn't have to stress about my car, and a gross place with only 1.5 bathrooms.

Basically I would probably move in with my 2 buddies if it werent for the car issue, due to I think I would have lots of fun there, and I would never be bored. If I move in with my work friend, my car would be ok, and I would have a cleaner/homier place, but I would still have to go out to have a fun time with my friends, and I would be farther from school.

Which would you guys do??

party environment will get tiring fast. just my expierience.
x2....

partying is great, but when you get into doing it every day, its just normal life. stay at home as long as you can, as long as your folks are cool about your late night habits.

the 35 mile thing bothers me, however. are you driving home drunk?

PLEASE DONT DRIVE DRUNK.

being 35 and looking back, i lost several friends that way. i have a good friend who is an emt, and some of the wrecks that young people get into while drinking are irreversible and deadly.

not trying to sound like a dad, but i am a dad, who happens to care about your generation:)

No i am not driving drunk, that is the whole thing. I cant go do the stuff normal kids my age do because I have to drive far as hell home every night, so i watch them all have a blast, while I sit there

Is it on street parking? Is there a garage around? Or what....?

Get a 2-way paging LCD alarm (Hey Python 881xp through accoms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )... put in a backup siren, and multiple about 2piezo's hidden in the interior.

If it's close to your place... you can HEAR if it's triggered... and the remote iwll page you. Make sure you have theft insurance coverage.

See, my campus is only a few blocks from the bad part of town... I park in a garage tho... keep it low profile near campus... have an alarm... and check my truck daily...

So, that's my suggestion...

I have a 2 way LCD alarm and my truck will be a few parking spaces away from my room at night. It is not on-street. I have 2 sirens but plan to add more. I have 5% tint and I an getting coverage before I move out. I am still scared as hell though for some reason.

Going to the party house, and staying the nite occasionally, and chilling there all the time and giong home to a homey enviroment is a lot better than living in the party house, as the other guys stated, i have exp from both. and the first is way better. And you cant let loose and have fun if your worrying all the time.

I actually just rode by the apartment #1 and it doesn't look that bad at night. I am just paranoid as hell. It is mainly college kids.
