Need recommendation for system

I own a 2002 Nisson Maxima and looking to replace the current Bose system. I am also looking to spend no more than $800 total including installation. Main concern is the best sound possible for the money but H/U most have an auxillary input(rear or front) for my IPOD and also be able to play cd-R and MP3s. I would appreciate any advice on a complete system and where I should shop. I also have a few specific questions

Will I need to replace the current wiring or will I be able to use the Bose wiring?

Can I have the current steering wheel remote hooked up to the new H/U?

Thinking about Infinity components with amp in the front and no backspeakers except for a subwoofer. Is this a good idea?

keep the bose system and add some subs. 2 10's in a sealed box. Its going to cost a lot of money to bypass the factory amps.
