Lows.......

Anyone have any good recommendations? In today's market, the variety and the number of options there are V.S. back in the 90's and early 00's are staggering. I can not decide on what to get. I can not make up my mind and it's been a month sitting here with the money and no bass and I can't ever seem to decide and pull the trigger. Someone give me your opinion please. Better yet, What would YOU get?

Thanks in advance!

Can you provide the following information?
  • How much room are you willing to give up, as mentioned above
  • How much money are you willing to spend
  • How loud of bass do you want
  • what kinds of bass do you want, Hard hitting, deep rumbling, all of the above
  • what type of music do you listen to

A few questions; are you looking to rattle your rearview mirror to where one car looks like ten, or are you wanting to blend the bass with the front stage?
Hiw much room in the back are you willing to give up?
All of it of course! And don’t forget that there is a hidden compartment under the back. Two of them actually.

I’m somewhere in the middle of spl and sq. Money is not a problem. Sky is the limit.

In that case, JL Audio is the bees knees! 2 12w6v3-D4 on an RD1500/1. Best of both worlds from an established company. Buuut, a member did an independent unbiased side by side of the 12w6v3 and Alpine R2-W12. He concluded that both were similar in SQ but the Alpine sounded slightly better in SPL. So considering price, the Alpine came out on top. So two R2-W12d4 with an R2-a150m should be just as good.

If this is true, then I would get 4 RE Audio XXX 15" Subs. They have 2.3" of excursion. They weigh about 100 lbs. each, so you will need to stiffen your suspension. They handle 2000 watts RMS.
