Need re-cone info on a 12" SE reaudio

My 12" se finally kicked the bucket. Can you guys tell me if it would be worth my while to re-cone the SE, or just buy a whole new subwoofer? Where can I take it for a re-cone? Can I do it myself?

80- that doesnt help the kid at all...to the op- fi car audio, im sure has a fairly cheap recone available...a few others as well. i would check fi first...

o really so u can send a sub a distorted clipped signal and it wont blow...yea rite

personally speaking the re se subs are the most underated subs ever...the 600rms 1200 watts spec..throw them out the window..they can handle way more power...only in smart hands

i seen them take 1400 daily in 2 different setups and they get ungodly loud....so if u going to do a re cone talk to dave at re and see wat he can do...cuz wat ever they did with the se subs is special

There are only two ways to blow a subwoofer. To reach its thermal or mechanical limits. Now 80 im sure that there is more ways to blow a SE than just sending it a clipped signal. I know they are stout little drivers, but I could throw that sucker in a huge box and bottom the hell out of it or put it on 5kw and cook her thermally.

As far as recones...get in contact with either David from RE (TeamPSI on the forum) or Scott from Fi can get you a recone.

YEA of course u can bottom it out

or u can slap it in a small ported box and play way below tuning

but as far as recone talk to scott or dave and the will hook u up....push comes to shove hit up tcsounds they can recone it 4 u as well
