Need RCA's

Ummmm Bean...gold is actually ONE of the BEST conducting metals on the planet. Thought you knew??

I for one prefer to blow a little bit of extra cash on a higher end cable. Why? because I know the connectors are of a better quality and I have worked previously in the wire and cable industry for long enough to know the sheilding issues and even to see some of the test specs. Is it a noticeable difference by most standards and people? Not really, but I go with it anyway.
Connectors, my friend, that's it. All good connectors are gold......... plated. Gold is a poor conductor, but it doesn't corrode (spelling?). It's I guess this lack of corrosion then, that makes it a good connecter. Brass or silver or steal, or what ever else is used can tarnish or rust and of course rust is a very, very poor connector. So, they plate this stuff in gold, to prevent tarnishing and rust but it's conductivity is lower than copper, brass or silver.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

ok youa re both right?

Gold has a relative conductivbity of 65, whilst copper has a slightly higher one..

dont say gold is a bad condutoc, its not as good of a condutor, but still good..

beats brass (28) beats steel (3-15) but doesnt beat copper or silver..

not a BAD conductor, not aS GOOD, but not bad..

plus it doesnt coorode
The differences are only SLIGHT and the fact that it will not corrode makes it much more desireable and appealing in a wire application where overtime copper may or may not corrode and become weak or less stable.

Unrelated, why do you think everything on this forum turns into one giant arguement???
no idea, could be cause of people like you, dickless (liek that pun on your name? i did.. lol...) just buggin ya buddy jsut jokes.

Because everyone and their mother has a different opinion on various things. It is like starting up a forum on religion or politics...LOL You kinda have to expect a variety of different people comming in and arguing their side. It makes the forum a hell of a lot more interesting and informative as I see it. Makes for everyone to be able to learn from each and every side and aspect and even get a lot of really good information in the meantime

Yeah why does everything on here turn into an arguement??

- For one we all know that ricers ****, lol;)

Everything turns into an arguement because people get pissed when you know more than them:D

5% Agree, Yeah maybe a decent $5 cable can sound as good as a lousy (read industry hyped) $50 cable.

95% disagree. As Bean pointed out, all cables have a sonic signature. When you compare two $25 or $50 cables, they will sound different. It’s the listener that decides which one sounds more to their musical liking. Cables are like components, you need to audition them. When you get into the +$500 / pair stuff, the sonic signature is dramatically different.

Again, bad components are not going to bring out the best in a good cable & the car is not the perfect environment for critical comparison.

Brainwashed audiophiles? If you can’t tell the difference in cables, so be it. Others can! Have you really listened to enough good cables to be objective on this topic?
So you are saying that you can hear a difference in a $50 strand of copper and a $5 strand of copper?

You need to be working in Otology if this is the case.

If you care to do a double blind test I would be happy to administer it. I guarantee those who "hear" a difference will have a new point of view.

Yes- brainwashed is correct. Why not "tell" everyone that your more costly product is superior to increase sales.

Welcome to what Corporate America calls "Marketing."

Zane???!???? Gold???!?!!! Come on dude, gold's a horrible conductor.

And Brainwashed??? Yeah okay, I have been a bit. However, I've seen tests done that prove the differences in cable.
I believe that the gold issue has been covered allready.

I've always wondered why gold is commonly used on interconnect ends and distribution blocks/connectors. :p

Also covered the Brainwashed bit too. (read above)

Yes, cable is different. Is that difference Audible- No.

In 7 years in this industry, I have yet to see any proof that there is any such difference.

take it easy,
