hi everyone. well, i sold something on ebay, only worth around $40 but still, and the buyer payed for it and it was shipped by airmail. now the buyer was located in canada and it was sold from overseas, so there was no U.S postal or courier services involved (i'm not sure if that matters since paypal hq are in the U.S). now, he "claims" he didnt get it but i have the receipt. now, you cant track the package with just regualr airmail. so i think im screwed. i called paypal and they said they need proof the buyer received it. since it wasnt a big item, there was no way i could charge him the price of a courier or that he would even pay it, since courier shipping would be a higher value than the item itself. plus, when i sent it, there was no way you can ONLY get the tracking number if sent by airmail. when i talked to paypal, they said it will go in the buyers favor EVEN if he got the package and was a scammer, coz all he simply has to do is say he didnt get it and file with paypal that he received nothing. then if the seller cant prove the tracking of it, then its the sellers fault. now i can understand the logic behind that but...
1. whats to stop anyone from buying anything using paypal, even requesting the cheapest shipping method, get the item, claim he didnt, then get his money back????
and
2. what is a seller to do in a situation where the item isnt really worth putting courier priced shipping on it, like say an item $50.00 and less and therefore no tracking number, and then make sure they dont get ripped??
