Need opinons, should I upgrade HU?

Hey guys alright back in August I got my system and I bought alpine 9847 for my HU and it is doing its job but now I am thinking of upgrading. I was thinking either the 53 or 55, I forgot which is better or the new 61. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? Whjat features does one have over the other. Thanks again guys

The 9861 is the new 2006 one. The only reason I said the other two was because they had the slide bar, or one did i forget which one. Then again I have heard problems about the slide bar

i like my 9851, but it's almost the exact same thing as a 9847 but with a better display.

i'd wait for the 2006 models.

just my opinion though.

The DVA-9861 is a DVD head unit...

Do you have a need for a DVD source or wish to connect to an outboard processor? If not, skip on that.

Honestly, I'd scour the forums and try to hunt down a CDA-9835 (Alpine top of the line in 2004). Cheaper, same features, better reliability.

Same thing as the 9855 and 9835 sound wise -- except it doesn't have Bass Engine Pro...

Alpine actually seemed to downgrade the features in 2006.

I have the 53 and its a good HU. My parents bought my brother a 53 for Xmas too. It's alot better than my Pioneer was but takes alil longer to get used to the EQ settings etc. But overall good HU.
