Need opinions on Amp/Speakers/ETC.....

I have a 1999 Firebird. And I have blown one of the sail panel sub woofers and after many hours reading, I found there is no simple solution other than gutting the entire MonSoon Crap System.

I have enough money to replace the amp, the component speakers in the doors and add some two ways for the sail panels but not enough to replace the Head unit as well as the 4" rears. I would plan on replacing the H/U shortly after this upgrade (perhaps 6-12 months) as well the rear 4"s.

Getting to the point, I was wondering what would be the best multiple channel amp to run the set of components and two ways under 250-300.

What would be the best set of component speakers under 250, as well as two way speakers under 150.

Futhermore, I know there are plently of websites with very low prices which would increase my options; but this would be my first car audio purchase online, and I am not sure which sites are safe. Any opinions would be apprecaited.

Also as far as I understand, I would need a line output converter to connect the Factory H/U to the new amplifier. Any ideas about which will work the best or if any are worth the money?

I have seen several different makes and models of these: Scosche SLC4, PAC OEM-2, PAC OEM FACTORY AMPLIFIED INTERFACE OEM1, And Several others at SoundDomain/CarDomain

As far as speakers and the amp, I have been considering the JBL Power Series P650c for components in the doors, JBL Power Series P652 for the sail panels, and JBL GTO75.4 II as a multiple channel amp.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated as I am still searching for options

and these simply fall into my budget.

Thanks

This is directly off of LS1tech.com.

The monsoon speaker sizes are: front door - 6.5" or 6.5S", back seat - 6.5", rear hatch - 4".
The stock HU runs at 4 ohms and powers the front door tweeters and the rear hatch tweeters/mids.

The stock amp located next to the spare tire runs at 2 ohms and powers the midbass for the front door speakers and the back seat speakers.

The reason aftermarket speakers don't sound as good as the stock speakers while connected to the stock deck and amp is because most aftermarket speakers run at 4 ohms. Most people that want to run subs in the rear hatch area and also want to replace the back seat speakers may want to do something different than the way the stock speakers are set up. The way to do this is to pull the wires from the back hatch and plug them into the tweeter on the 3-way in the back seat and plug the midbass wires to the midbass terminal on the speaker.

So if you know of any 30 dollar speakers which would work correctly with the funky GM amp please let me know

but in reality I want to upgrade, and really want input on whats good and where to buy

Also if you think I could get a quality head unit along with an 4 channel amp, components and a pair of two ways for around 600 let me know

The thing about factory amped systems is you need tyo bypass the stock amp which takes so much more wiring and you have to rip the car apart.

The amp in my suburban for the middle speakers sucks poop, all my other speakers are louder and they run off the h/u

I figured that I would have to do alot of tearing apart of the interior. I also thought removing the factory amp altogether would be a good option. That is why I really would like some opinions for equipment especially an ampilifer. I have no idea what makes one amp better than another other than watts, price, etc.... and whether it would be acceptable to run one of these large 4 ways amps on stock electronics.

My only other thought would be to remove the entire monsoon system including stock amp and head unit, and buy a new head unit, components for my doors and two ways for the sail panels. But would a quality head unit have enough power for such a setup?
