Need Opinion on Best Music Reproduction 12" Subs

Hi Everyone,

I have 2, 2006, Kicker L7s that I bought for $100 - already in a sealed box. Guy was unloading his gear and had entered many SPL competitions. So these subs absolutely thump, but I am starting to question if they actually sound musical - if you are following me. The L7s move tons of air but rattle everything (I expect some of this).

Is there a better sub that replicates music loudly, but not as aggressive? I want thump but also musicality as well.

Oh I bought a new Alpine PDX-M12 to power the pair.

Well the quality of the sub you want also depends on your budget.
