need on axis tweet

Hey, I need a 3/4 to 1" tweet for an on axis app. It' going in the tweeter pod on a Is 250 for those that have seen one. If not, it's at the front corner of the side glass, pointed at the cabin. I'm a little nervous 'bout a metal dome on axis. I'd like a jl c5 3/4", but their on backorder. Could I do a jl xr 100? or maybe a rainbow cal 25. I'd like to stay under $150.00 and size matters, the pod isn't that large. Thanks.

Vifa XT19 or the Alpine Type X derivative. Also, the Polk SR tweeter is a 22mm tweeter based on the Vifa XT25. Both are ring radiator designs that are very low distortion and play flat well beyond 20khz.

^^What he said. I have the Polk SR6500 components with the above polk/vifa tweet. Sounds great and should fit the bill perfectly.

The xt25 is EXCELLENT on-axis, but might be a problem to mount. If you can find the Alpine SPX17 Pro tweet it also does VERY well on-axis and is smaller. Might find some for sale on DIYMA. I currently run those and they're quite good...

I have a pair of SR tweeters for sale if you'd like to try them. Mine are basically brand new...just used for testing. Smaller than the "SC" version of the XT25, too.

Also going to recommend a variant of the Vifo XT25/19 ring radiators. Good luck finding a smoother, flatter response tweeter for an on-axis install. I own the big bastards but not everyone may be able to fit them. Keep an eye out for the smaller Alpine versions and it will be worth the wait.

Thanks for all the responces, The controlling factor is the pod that the tweet needs to fit into. The vifa xt-19 on madisound would be waay to huge. The pod is the size of a small chicken egg, and about the same shape. I might even need to shave any flange on a 3/4" tweet. I'm gonna have to do some test fitting this weekend. If I could shoehorn in either a jl xr-100 or a rainbow cal 25silk, would either work? Basically are they ok on axis?
