Here is my current setup:

2 - Audiobahn A12001DT's, 1 - Sony XM 3020, 2 - Audiobahn Flame compression AW1208T's, JBL Gto935's rear, Polk db650's kickpanel, 1 - Rockford Fosgate Type RF CPCC25 25 farad Capacitor w/built-in distribution block, Stinger HPM 1/0 gauge wiring kit , dual 12" slot ported 3/4" MDF box, Streetwires Zero Noise 6 wires

im running around 2500 watts total from the two A12001DT's and the sony xm... please dont bash audiobahn, i really dont give a **** what you think. now my problem is, my battery has been dying every other week. i guess the capacitor just cant hold enough and the battery slowly drains. my best guess would be that my shitty little 65amp alternator isnt cutting it. i have a '94 civic and it cant handle my amps. i've looked on ebay, and google and i cant find a god**** alternator thats like 200amps. the reason i cant find one is maybe cause im not searching for the right thing or w/e. ive never dealt with alternators so i have no idea on brands, prices, or anything. ill spend up to 300$ on an alt. because i need a battery soon and i turn 17 tommorow and you should all know that money is hard to come by at this age. please help me find some alternators for my car. its so sad to see my system unhooked cause it will drain the battery, so it doesnt even get used now and its all finalized and completely hooked up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

thats not what i meant... anyone with fingers can search on google... i dont know what brands are good and what features are the best...there isnt really a local alternator place around here... im thinkin about getting an alterstart 150amp and getting it wound to 200? if thats possible? see i dont know what the hell im talkin about when it comes to alternators so i need some guidance, not relying on google :/

edit: posted this after that last post... ill give that guy an email.. that seems good

well first off, ive heard so much shit talking about audiobahn that i want to make it clear i dont wanna hear it in the first place also, telling me to search on google is like telling an american resident of 20+ years that you have to drive on the right side of the road in the U.S. thanks to all who were helpful, i found an alternator //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeh but google doesnt give its personal experienced opinions on anything. i think asking people that know what theyre talking about is better than googling for it and taking a manufacturers word.. btw i ended up choosing the mean-green 200amp alt because its the illest looking alt. and the price isnt bad, and they also seem like theyre rock solid alternators from people that know that the hell theyre doing

Be sure when adding this alty dude, that you upgrade your engine block ground, your battery ground (body ground), and the charging wire from your alty to the battery. Using a 200 amp alternator, you probably want to run 1/0 gauge for the above connections. Good luck man!

yeh i ordered a new power wire from ebay for 50$. i also bought 20 ft of 1/0 gauge wire and stinger terminals to ground it all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i have one question tho.. someone was telling me that with the new alternator i ordered... im going to need a new battery... because if i dont.. the battery will blow up cause its too many volts or amps for the battery.. is this true?

no...it's not. Alternators have regulators which regulate the voltage they provide to the battery...it's just like a replacement for your stock alternator but beefier. battery will be no problem. peace
