Ok, i moved back home for the summer and I have an internet question. My room doesn't have a phone line (we have dial up) and the only internet connection is in the living room. I have this on my computer:

So my question is: What all do I need to get internet in my room?? If someone could provide me with links that'd be great, thanks in advance and all help is greatly appreciated!!

WTF he doesnt have a phone line but u have dial up. That makes no sense. U need a phone line to use dial up. To use that card u need a router w/ cable or DSL(which i doubt u have since u dont have a phone line.) that supports that cards wi-fi interface

i'd like to see someone use dial up wirelessy as well.

could be done pretty easily, but requires a hub/router that has wireless support. Just have a computer that uses dial up, have the computer hooked up to a router/hub (network). Then have a network setup so that everyone connects to the internet thro that main computer. Probably be slow as hell tho since 1 person on dial up is already slow enough.

naw, most annoying one is a really slow dial up. I remeber my dial up connection was 26.6kps, didn't even get 56k //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif But I live in a private area of the city. That was a good 10 years ago tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Sharing a Dial Up connection is very hard to do, tried it, could never get it working. We ended up getting satellite internet way better, and 1000 times easier to share. I'd say get another phone line installed (you can do it red neck style by running extention cords up the stairs or wherever.)

Or get satellite internet it costs alot for the equipment, and the monthly fee is a bit high, but if you have a second phone line for internet that costs $20 per month and an internet connection that costs $20 the fee doesn't seem too bad
