I recently purchased a pair of rocksford fosgate 12'' hx2 subwoofers. What would be a good amp to run these subs and what gauge of wire?

Anything that will give you a clean 1,000W RMS @ 2-Ohms would be a feature to search for. Something along the lines of a Kicker ZX1000.1 Not stating this is the THEE best amplifier possible for your application. Just giving you a hint at what specs you should be looking for.. I'm also not sure if those subs ever came with a dual 4-Ohm coil configuration (or which coils you have), in which case you'd be in search of an amp capable of the same power (1,000W RMS) but at 1-Ohm instead of 2.
