Need Help With New Speakers For My Car

that lower end sony alternative is horrible. in comparison. Very low pre-out voltage, overall built less. I would not trust sony's lower end products. You can try out the clarion if you want and make a custom shade for it so you can see it during the day and get used to it and get an amp. Just keep things simple for now. I'd rather have a decent head unit with good pre-out voltage along with good EQ over a crappier head unit with a grossly overrated amp or a rockford amp that only does 10 more watts than the sony's internal amp.
Agreed. Also, Sonic has a solid powerbass amp for $120, gives you plenty of power and overhead.

Pioneer TS-D1720C 6.75" D-Series Component Car Speakers

$70 shipped

Hifonics BRX160.2 320W RMS Brutus Series Stereo Power Amplifier

That will bring you to about $330 with a headunit with bluetooth, wiring for car, wiring for speakers, amplified components up front. Pretty good starter pack IMO, for $330 cant beat it.

You should upgrade to 4ga amp kit if you feel you'll want more than like 300rms on a subwoofer if you plan in the future to get one so you dont but wire twice.

Jeff already noted not to touch those hifonics amps and as far as processing features, the pioneer deck doesn't compare to the clarion.

For $300 thats about as good as its going to get. If you double your budget we can explore other options, you arent going to have "nice" equipment on a $300 budget. I'm just being realistic. It doesn't sound like home boy wants to turn this into something amazing eventually, he just wants more than it provides from the factory.

Sure, it'd be great to spend $230 on a head unit if that's all he wanted. Even with a ****** Hifonics amp powering those components it is going to sound better than stock speakers off HU power, I'd like to see someone prove me wrong.

He's 16 years old in his first car. He wants to listen to loud music with his friends, he doesn't give a **** about the processing power of the Clarion. If I'm out of place please tell me kindly to GTFO OP.

Few people have agreed that this is best for corolla's acoustics and at $120, he can read the manual and do some light time alignment and EQ if he needs it.

Haha ok, just saying. What is he powering with that amp? Also MB Quart is made by same company that makes Hifonics...

I'm 22, but yeah still my first car because I just got my license a couple weeks ago and I am COMPLETELY new to all of this haha

I just wanted to improve my overall sound (When I posted this I thought I would just need new speakers, but I see it all depends on the headunit and amp)

So what I ended up figuring out is a good deck and amp would improve sound clarity, volume and bass with the stock speakers I have currently for now.

Yes, in the future I may look at buying subs and upgrading the speakers.

Same manufacturer doesn't mean the same amp. I bought an MB reference amp, was great. He can even add sonic 3yr warranty for like $10. The amp will be just fine for those Pioneers. The deck is solid and I have personal experience with everything else I've suggested.

Does this HU go three way active? Have you guys looked into active capable amps to broaden his future choices of upgrading speakers, for cheaper?

He can do 2-way active front stage with that deck. 6ch 5V pre-outs as well.
So it is three way active capable I'm guessing is what you meant by that? 5v preouts are nice too. Sounds like a hard HU to beat for the price!

Sooooo, what's the amp powering? Is that just for speakers in the future? And does he know to get his wiring at Knukonceptz or similar, OFC? 8ga, 4ga? Do you know any of this OP? Are you just buying head unit and amp and getting speakers in future? Am I asking questions that have already been answered? Should I just leave this thread? lol I'm done

That's obvious, but I have also owned a MB Quart, cosmetics are better IMO. My friend had one that overheat all the time. Just saying, comparing apples to apples in terms of MB Quart vs Hifonics. You don't spend $10 extra and all of the sudden have the best deal of the century from the same manufacturer, get where I'm going?
