Need Help with Amp Choice

ok so i recently just bought 2 alpine type R 12" subs and now i need amp. they are the swr 1222d model which is the dual 2's i believe. now i have been reading up on amps a bit and i think i need a mono amp? will i need two seperate amps for the 2 subs or one bigger amp to power them both? the guy i got them off said, the biggest downfall when people buy type Rs is that they under power them with their amp choice. also i have seen some systems with capacitors. will i need one or will it not be necessary? (also heard something about the big 3 upgrade, not sure what that is)

if someone can explain these to me and possibly give me some good amp choices, that would be great, i have no idea what to buy.

sorry for all the questions, im fairly new to the car audio stuff and im still learning.

big 3 will help what size alt do you have ? u need 12 to 1500 watts at 2ohms or .5 so i would go with an audioque 2200 that way u could run it at 2ohms and be fine and if you ever wanted to upgrade u would be good with power, also thats a no go on the cap they are a waste of money

alpine mrp 1000 is a good choice kicker zx 1000 pheniox gold rsd1200 all are solid choices

i dont have a car yet, the one i was going to buy is getting fixed because it got broken into. ive had a few suggestions for the alpine mrp m1000 so far but ill look into the kicker and phoenix ones too.

i think i am going to go with the alpine mrp m1000. ive heard good things about it plus i found it cheap on amazon.
