my amp is a 4 channel coustic amp-268u

very old amp lol

just trying to hook up 2 10's subs a friend gave me to have some kick

what would the best way to wire these amps?

im very new at car audio so please bare with me if u can:p

dynamic power one channel at 4 ohms= 75watts

rated power(20-20000hz, 4 ohms, @0.09% thd):

4 ohms=50 watts X4

2 ohms=60 watts X4

rated power(bridged mono mode)

(20-20000 hx, 0.02% THD)

at 4 ohms=100 watts X 2

thx

It depends on the subs. If they're single voice-coil, 4-ohm subs then you'd wire the amp for bridged mono mode and send each sub 100 watts. If they're dual voice coil subs or 8-ohm subs, they'll be much harder to match well with the amplifier.

Actually, the amp you're wanting to use is a really good match for those drivers then. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You'll want to combine two channels on the amp into a single, mono channel.

You'll connect one of the left channels' positive output to the positive input on one sub.

Then you'll connect one of the right channels' negative output to the negative input on that same sub.

I don't know if that amp has its channels labeled as 1, 2, 3, and 4 or A, B, C, and D.

Whichever it is you'll want to use channels 1 & 2 (A & B) for the above and then using channels 3 & 4 (C & D) follow the same steps to connect the other subwoofer.

hi, i wired it like u said

but i have to do the remote wire tomarro...

i have another question

my panasonic has a suboutput so i can control it on deck...

if i use 2 diff channels i need 2 sets of rca

is there a way i can combine then so i can control both on the deck?

or will i only be able to control one:(

RCA SPLITER! Haha They sell them at radioshack. Pick to of them up. It makes one RCA into 2. So then your 1 set of rca cables will be 2

ok so i got the whole thing installed

channel 1/2 is bridged to sub a

channel 3/4 is bridged to sub B

wow it hits pretty hard...

how much power is each sub getting if i wire it like this?
