Need help wiring 2 alpine swr-10d2 to an autotek 4050.1

And thats after about 10min. of playing...the other sub and amp is not warm at all

Yeah, it's clipping. How did you set the gains? Because they are the same amp, it doesn't mean you set the gains exactly the same. Back off the new amp gain.

Oh really I didn't know that..I will try that..thought they had to be identical to one another..I dont have any special equipment just doing by ear..thanks I will let you know what happens

Look up "the big 3 upgrade" and start working on that. Your pulling a lot more current now running that much power. Might want to get a beefed up alternator or an agm battery in the future if the big 3 does not cut it. However, if you lower down the gains and keep them conservative, making sure nothing is clipping or getting hot then you should be fine with just the big 3 upgrade.

Another reason why you should set gains differently for each amp is because not all amps are built the same even if they are in the same production line. Everything is soldered by hand and its not consistent, its not just machines making these amps.

Haven't done big 3 yet but looking into it..tried turning gain down on other amp and the amp and sub still gets fairly warm while the other amp and sub stays cool..the sound is good just cant figure out why one gets hot and the other doesn't..could it be a bad ground. I have both amps grounded at the same location the ground on the amp that stays cool is about 2 feet long the ground on the hot amp is 4 feet long..

Shorten the other to 2ft.also.The shorter the ground the better. They need to have their own bare metal connection to the car, don't share the ground point.

Well turning the gain off a little solved the problem even sounds a little cleaner..Now comes another issue. Im not satisfied with the box there in. Any recommendations on where to find a good box or should I make one. I have all the tools but have no clue how to get the right numbers for dimensions of the box...a lil help
