Need Help quick. Keys stuck in ignition, truck on

you guys having ignition/key troubles...when the keys do finally turn does it sometimes take alot of effort as if its dragging when turning, like there's extra weight being turned...??

before it finally took a shit....about last week i started to notice that it was getting stuck and it didnt want to turn back to shut it off. i had to go forward for a little bit until the distributor screeched but it finally didnt work today( i know its prolly bad). but it never felt like it had extra weight to it

It's hard to really diagnose on here, first thing is replace ignition lock cylinder, then if that doesnt work (try turning new one with batt unhooked so truck wont start so u dont have same problem) then call dealership and explain to them what happened and ask them about the "rod" I mentioned (dealer item $20 or so).

You mean you turned the key forward until the starter engaged and then grinded some teeth? If so, don't do that, you'll end up having problems starting the car. Hopefully after you fix w/e is actually wrong you won't need to do that anymore, its probably fine as it sits but its still not a good idea.

you can spray some stuff called graphite into the lock, could try teflon cooking spray too

shimmy the sterring wheel a little, Works in my s10 when the key won't turn when i'm trying to start it. Never had trouble shutting it off though

I was gonna say put a brick on the accelerator and start pouring random things into the oil cap until the engine blows. That should stop it.
