Need help picking out a new sub!

He runs EMF.com. Just a tool that will do whatever it takes to make what he sells look better, if you have half a clue you can tell he's full of **** on most of it.
Ohh, okay. Well I talked to someone named Brian from sundown audio. Not the emf website.

Unfortunately I had to revive this thread. I just upgraded to a aq2200 amp. I have the zv4 and like a f**cking idot I purchased the wrong dvc option. The sub basically is brand new and now I have to sell it. I'm considering buying something different, possibly with more watts. Can someone just give me a basic answer to this simple question. I want a sub around the same wattage (2000-2500). I have a big 3 kit being installed soon, same Skar 0 gauge wiring kit, etc. My question is what sub will make my brain rattle, the car sound like the windows will blow out, make my entire block hate me, and have people potentially hear me from an extraordinary distance ? I am talking pure clean bass, hits notes with precision, and makes me want to get in my car for no reason just to hear it. I am open to any and all brands but I want my sub to be ignorant loud but sound official/professional at the same time.

I may get the zv4 again just with the dual 2 option like i was supposed to.. I feel like a moron.

But I appreciate any feedback and advice.

Oh and its my birthday right now (the amp was my gift to myself..fml) so anyone who helps me can make my weekend because I would like to purchase a new sub by Monday.

Thank you!

keep it and buy another AQ 2200 and strap it. You dont even have enough power to tickle a Zv4 currently even if you got the right Ohm load configuration.

You can just wire down to .5 ohms, the AQ2200 will handle it easily as long as your electricals are beefed up.

If that sub is not rattling your doors atm, your box is horribly wrong. Brands dont make you loud, the install does. No matter what beefy sub you buy, if you have it in a noob install, it'll always sound either like sh*t or it will never hit hard.

Box design and engineering based in the vehicle's acoustics along with proper electrical upgrades and amp/head unit tuning are all part of the install.

Less focus on brands, more focus on the more important sh*t that actually matters is how you achieve loudness goals. If you want to waste time and money buy buying subs left and right and getting disappointed by every sub on the planet, be my guest lol.

Stick with the zv4. Not going to do much better.
No other recommendations ? Zcon ? DC Audio XL ?

I got the box custom made to the best specs possible from a dude on this website. The enclosure is not the issue. I spoke to rep from soundqubed, he told me that a Dual 1 ohm sub only can be wire to .5 or 2 ohm load. I don't want either. I'm not even trying to run into any problems electrically for no reason with .5 resistance. Running at 2 ohms is a waste of unused power, money, and my happiness. So as of buying another amp, strapping, etc. I am not even trying to hear any of that. Nor do I want to "buy subs left and right", that was the purpose of reviving the thread. I want to see if any car audio fanatics on here have personal experience with other brands and models that match my needs.

Thank you for your input though.

Have you even played it yet? What dont you like about it? what the fk is actually going wrong with your setup?

Telling you, Majority of people run their soundqubed 2200.1 at 0.5. Its a thing called box rise, you'll still end up around 1.5-2 ohms final lowest impedance when wired to 0.5 ohms. Which lands you barely at 1k rms to the ZV4. Most people run 3.5k to 4k rms to a single ZV4

Box could have not just worked well with your car's acoustics and might need tweaking. You dont realize how much work people put into their boxes to get loud, A lot of them build multiple boxes until they strike gold.

If you arent getting results with a ZV4 you wont get results with any sub out there. My words still stand true. If it flows in your ear, out another, I got nothing else to say bro. Go buy some FI SP4 3500 rms sub and still watch your amp barely tickling the sub because you dont realize how much power (after box rise) it takes to get a monster sub moving. RMS does not = louder. Hell, you'd probably gain loudness switching over to a Zv3 or sundown SA series. ZV4 sounds like too much sub for you to even think about tackling let alone DC XLS, Zcons, or other big boy subs.
