If you want straight SPL, go with the ZV4 with SPL surround, dont go stock. You will need another 1500.1d strapped to power the sub properly along with a high output enclosure.
I read a lot of reviews on the xcon and they seem to be an overall sub. Idk. I'm still stuck.
I mean I don't want straight spl. I love music, (trying to make a career out of it), but I listen to rap/hip hop. I don't want my sub to sound sloppy. I want some type of sq.
If you pick a Fi built sub I hope you like driving without a sub. You will be waiting a while to get it.
I am aware. When I bought the q I had to wait 2 weeks. But I rather buy a sub and only have to wait 2 weeks or so then to keep dragging my decision lol.

its not gonna sound sloppy by any means in a properly designed ported enclosure. It will be a little sluggish without proper power though, but that comes with thick heavy soft parts, need more power for better control, a fully fed sub will sound a lot tighter than an underpowered one.

I found a custom enclosure with the exact requirements that sundown audio recommends. My questions to you are; my amp is 1500 watts and the sub is 1750. Is that truly under powering it ? Will I honestly even notice a difference ? And how many watts should a new amp be if mine doesn't suffice ?
uh huh... soooo whats the specs? PRECISE specs. Just because its says 1.5-2 cubic feet tuned to 30-35hz doesnt meant its proper specs or if it actually is what it claims, you got to get the port area right along with accounting in how much space the subwoofer takes up because that changes the tuning too. Run the numbers by me and i'll let you know if the box is legit or not. Need Depth X Width X Height along with diameter(if its aeroport) or width(if its slot)
You say this but how does a monster sub like a DD Z for example do well in SQ setups? I'm sure they are not getting much power with 120db judging volume
