Ok, So im in the market for a new system, going to go with ebay stuff because its cheaper. Im looking to get either 1 Kicker s10 or 12 L7. It will be going in a truck*int he backseat* and i want a ported box. I just don't know how big it will be, so thats the determining factor in getting a 10 or 12 inch. Ok next quesiton-What kind of amp would you recommend? I dont want anything disgusting, just something to get the job done and not dick me over in the long run. Next-What type/gauge wiring should I use? Also what about accessories(caps, fuses) anything else i may need please let me know, and if you have any good sites you could recommend me to let me know, thanks a lot for any information provided. Thanks

Cliff

OK here goes my list to get you started; but normally the way it work is you say how much you want to spend and we will tell you what to go for in that price range, based on our own experiences and tastes in sound.

The best place to creat a shopping list is CarAudio.com, and then go and see if you can't find it cheaper else where, none the less here goes.

Wire guage depnds on the amp and its requirements, but since you said nothing disgustings... Lets go with a 4 guage to be safe, enough to provide some good power, but not so thick that you can't work with it. Buy a kit it will make you life alot easier then buying everything independently. "Wire is wire, some are twister other braided, and some in different colors", A ca member quote.

If the kit does not come with a fuse then you must purchase one, most kits do and they come with a 60amp fuse, the fuse amparage depends on the amp, in your case it will more than likely be 40amps. Check the requirements of the amp Cardomain.com will tell you

As for caps, IMO waste of money. Install the amp and if you notice that your lights are dimming when the sub hits, the go ahead and do the Big 3 upgrade.

You can run a L7 below 1200 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Even on a Fosgate 501bd. I've heard a L7 on one and it was still frocking loud.

That one that the top guy suggested only put out like 300 watts. That may have been because I didn't say a price range, sorry about that. Well I plan on buying a refurbished amp more than likely because you can get them with so much more power for so much less. Thanks for the advice on the "Big 3" I might run it to another battery just because, not sure yet. Heres a link to the amp that I was thinking about getting-http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7982281954&category=38638&sspagename=WDVW

Then I would get the s12l7 with a 4 guage amp kit, and perhaps build a box, not sure on that one. Anybody else have any suggestions to anything its more than welcome, thanks for the help thus provided!
