i can do one of the american bass mini amps the vfl 1980 900 watts rms at 1 ohm and 450 at 2 ohms

Well the subs are only rated for 400 rms, aren't those pushing too much? And I was kinda trying to stay with Kenwood. Am I going wrong there? I'm just trying to give him a decent system, not something he is gonna be getting in trouble with....can't afford insurance if he gets a ticket!

As long as signal's clean, overpowering won't be an issue.

you can adjust the gains to match the power you need , its always better to have more than less power for your subs .you can adjust down ,but not up unless the amp will produce the power you need .

well i back all my stuff 100% and so does my manufacturers .to do this you must be an authorized dealer,rep, or distributer .there are some people selling these a bit less ,but they are not authorized to do so and are no backed by american bass. bob and myself have talked about these guys extensively and they soon will not be getting any american bass products any more .i am the only authorized person to sell on any car audio forum or online period.

yes kenwood subs and amps are junk , use the amp on the frt door speakers and get a better amp for the subs ,the subs will be fine for now ,let him get a job and upgrade later

Way do u mean leave the subs for now? Just don't hook them up? He would be pissed if he got new subs and a box and couldn't use them lol. And the front and rear speakers are only rated at 75 ways rms.

all you can do now is wire the subs up to each channel safely .i meant when you get another amp for the subs use the 2 channel for the doors . he can replace the subs later with better ones

Oh ok thanks. S if you were going to build an affordable mid level system what would u get for 12" subs and what amps to power them?
