So I borrowed a forum member's TL and I've got all the programs that need to be installed from the installtion cd on the computer.

The problem is that when I click to run the Term-Lab program, it gives me an error window stating:

"The Term-LAB USB Key must be attached to the computer before you can run this program. (6043-FF37-FE32)"

I think that there is a specific sequence in which you have to install the program on the computer that is going to be used, but I don't know if I forgot something...I installed Instacal first, then the Term-LAB program...

I'd greatly appreciate any help...

plug the box into the computer via the usb cable into a new usb slot so it reloads all the hardware drivers, also the power plug to the wall if its one of them...

windows will recognize everything, after that go to TERMLAB - INSTACAL, at this point the instacal program should regognize the TermLab box, and then you can click OK and close out of that and open the TL s/w... PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE after you open instacal do not do a 'calibrate' option, it will fuxor up the chipset in the box and make it read +6db.

CLIFFS:

install instacal, reboot, install termlab, reboot, plug in usb tl box, do TermLab-Instacal ... let me know how it goes.

this tutorial brought to you by: Zig Zags and Sativa.

another thing, idk much about how TL works with Vista or Windows 7 or whatever you have, I play in the XP world still so who knows if that may help or hurt you

No this is an XP OS too...

Couple of more questions before I reinstall if you would:

1. Do I have to be connected to the interweb?

2. Do I plug the TL box in before I install the programs, or do I just need to follow your sequence you posted at the end of your first post?

plug the TL box in after you install the programs, that way Windows will recognize them and figure it out without any hassle.

Install, Plug in, TermLab in Windows Programs - Instacal icon.

I assume you got it going huh buddy? SWEET //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Whatever works, Sir. I swear I was gonna flip if this thing didn't install right. I also totally forgot you have to hit Instacal, then TermLAB icon. I've been waiting for 3 months to do this and tomorrow...after all these trials and tribulations...I'm gonna break that 150 out'a my trunk. I just know it...

PM me the address, bro'hem.
