Need help installing headrest monitors in a 2004 Buick LeSabre limited edition

Well my issue is i removed my stock headrest and when i went to slide the black wire attached to the screen down the hole it seems to be stopped as if there is something blocking the wire from running further down. I was told by the installer that i may need to get someone to lift the leather from the back of the seats high enough to perhaps to cut off whatever may be stopping the wire from going down. Anyone have any suggestions or had this problem a 2004 Buick LeSabre limited edition?
